• Description: Provides a centralized "waiting list" for eligible parents to receive subsidized child care and enrichment programs in Butte County. Families are entered on the CEL with a phone call. Subsidized child care supports families by providing child care and enrichment services at low or no cost. Full day or partial day care is allowed. There are dedicated centers, home visit programs, and voucher type programs. Child care payment reimbursements can be used for subsidized child care centers or for other child care settings. Payments cover summer camp enrollment for some subsidies as well.

• Eligibility: For full day programs: income must not exceed established limits and parents must be working, or enrolled in an accredited school or training program, or seeking employment. Families where children have been identified as being at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, or who have special needs which cannot be met without the provision of child care, may also be eligible. For partial day enrichment programs, parents are not required to be involved in any activity (work, school, etc).
